DIY Safety Overview

Are you an experienced DIY enthusiast or a reluctant part-timer? Whatever the answer, DIY safety is of great importance. Taking a little time to organise what needs to be done could be the difference between tackling a job safely and successfully or painful disaster.

Each year 70 people are killed doing do-it-yourself work and a further 250,000 are injured - many of them seriously. For this reason we have produced this website containing safety advice covering a wide range of topics including the correct positioning of ladders, protection from electric shocks, etc, as well as what to do (and what not to do) when hiring power tools and equipment. And in case the worst does happen, there is also first aid advice.

Most accidents need never happen and are usually caused by either carelessness or lack of understanding.

A few minutes reading these pages could save you from having an unnecessary accident, so please read it and help keep yourself and your family safe.
